I'm only 14, I built the tower I'm using now and I build PC's for friends and family for money.

I know about IT, but not the technical stuff. Stupid British schools only teach kids how to use Word and how to make charts.

Must be terrible for you. My school had 7 computers (for 400 pupils)... BBC Micros. We were taught how to write silly little programs in BASIC. Can't say I've found that particularly useful since. Actually it wasn't useful then either.

If my PC were do die now I would a) Be very angry at the money spent on it was void (I built it using money from a Saturday job at the time, and yes it is old) b) care for a bit but probably not rebuild as I think I'd be better off without the thing.

What would I most miss, like Jamez my music collections, including some things that I will never get again, my entire CD music collection is on here and I don't have the CD's anymore.

Programmes and settings how I want them. But I don't really do much on my PC anymore, just surf the forums and chat on MSN mainly, both easily fixed.

Not in Scotland anyway. We're currently learning quite complicated programming, and i'm 15 next month. So it's hardly Word and charts.

I have a 250GB USB drive which serves three primary functions:

1. To house my MP3 collection
2. To provide a backup of my laptop
3. To provide a backup of the desktop

Upshot is, I more or less have my ass covered.
