Rosslyn Chapel - hiding behind the law?

Violation of a sepulchre is an obscure law used by the authority that controls this fascinating site to deflect calls for excavation.

Various books [Hiram Key et al] have made claims about what might be found underground [scrolls, origins of freemasonry, Jesus was really James, Knights Templar blah blah] that could easily be dispelled if they would just allow excavation. I've not studied this to any great depth, but the refusal seems to me to be either a cynical ploy to increase gate receipts or an acknowledgement that what might or might not be down there would be too disturbing to discover.

Since the publication of the Da Vinci Code, Rosslyn Chapel's trustees have been forced to remodel the entrance and triple the size of the car park to accomodate the crowds. This year 100,000 are expected to visit the Chapel, an all-time record.

Can we really expect theological falsibility in these thriving commercial circumstances, jan? Really?

Excuse my misspelling, sweetcheeks, I meant "falsifiable".

For example, "evolution" is, to a large extent, falsifiable because others can come along with different theories or flavours of theories which better explain a situation.

Religion and creationism, on the other hand, is not "falsifiable" as it is based upon an emotional belief rather than a scientific modus operandi, babe.

Oh indeed.

But what I like is such theories to be thoroughly debunked. That's why I would welcome an excavation.

One of my favourite books is Mind Out of Time by Ian Wilson, which thoroughly and conclusively [imo] debunks the reincarnation garbage.
