I only really smoke when I'm stressed or drinking. Sometimes I do enjoy it just for the sake of it, otherwise I dont feel the need for a cig everyday.
I almsot started in year 9 when i was thirteen at the height of insecurity and thought it was hip and made me oh so fab...
Got over it, then started again in year 11 because my art exam was really getting me down. Started from there, really.

Something I did notice when we had the CO2 rally in Kelso was that whereas everyone over here seems to smoke L&B (hence it taking up most of the fag display) all the french folk smoke Marlboro which we only ahve two rows of and ran out on the first day.

I don't often buy ciggies in this country. As i'm about 21 miles from France it is so easy for me to just pop across to the continent for my 'duty'. If i can't go, a couple of my friends, who live or work and commute over there, will get my ciggies for me. All of whom are non smokers.
I normally pay about £35.00 for 200 cigarettes.
I find it so hard to give up cigarettes. I have been warned my doctor to give up. He is right, my family history of cancer and lung disease speaks for itself.
I do enjoy a cigarette and wish i could be like my brother and my bestest friend who are social smokers.
I really resent being TOLD to give up by someone who has never smoked and by my fella who smokes himself. He dosen't want to give up but nags at me to do so. My dad was a reformed smoker who nagged me endlessly while i was enjoying a puff in the garden. My reaction to that was to keep lighting up, one after the other after the other, until he shut up.
I wish i could quit, i've been a smoker for 20 years and at times i really enjoy a ciggie. If only the phrase " one when you need it is better than ten when you don't" applied to my smoking habit.
Oh, and i lost a client the other day because i'm a smoker friendly salon.

Oh I would definately make your salon non-smoking.
Even as a smoker myself, I would not have my haircut in a smokey barbershop.
I actually stopped using a Paki cornershop because people were allowed to smoke in there.
I believe that all public places except pubs and clubs should be non-smoking. It just makes it a nicer atmosphere without the smell of cigs.
And that comes from someone who smokes 15-20 cigs and a joint or two a day!

A method of giving up as heard on Five Live recently.
You think of the figure in public life you dislike the most. We'll use Michael Winner in this example.
You write a cheque to Michael Winner for a decent amount of money. Let's say £500. You then address it to his agent and put a stamp on it. Then you give it to your best mate, and he/she must promise to post it if you smoke again.

Ah, but i have good ventilation in my salon. The staff smoke outside and most of my clients do out of courtesy to others when my salon is packed.Jamez wrote:Oh I would definately make your salon non-smoking.

Does that mean there is less courtesy when the salon is not packed? :roll:miss hellfire wrote:Ah, but i have good ventilation in my salon. It'll all be banned soon anyway.
The reason I know how much they cost is because they are on my debit card statement every month. Thank you. And, no I don't don't have a notebook nor a green anorak! I'm more up-to-date with a digital dictaphone and a hoodie!Bail wrote:Do you go around writing the costs of fags in various shops you visit on your little weather worn notepad? Which you keep next you your green anorak by the door?
