I went into Sainburys for the first time in years the other day and I find it bizzare and wierd as ever. Do all the Sainbury's have those horrible disjointed asiles that prevent you from simply going up and down?
It depends on the store. A Sainsbury's near me has the frozen food split, with the cabinets containing boxed things like ready meals at one end of the store, and the open chest freezers containing bagged things like chips at the other.
Oh and I passed a garage somewhere out in the sticks after getting lost coming out of Consett where the petrolwas. *drum roll* 99.9
At the risk of sounding extremely naieve, are there actually any petrol stations which have got to £1 / litre yet?
Mr Dragon, I share your thoughts on cheap washing up liquid. However, I do feel Persil rather outshines Fairy these days.
As for this active foam nonsense, well I really don't know what to make of it. I use a brush, not a sponge, so presumably I shalln't be able to use it.

Oh yes.
Do a Google for Dean's of Marlborough. They've been fifteen to twenty pence a litre over the odds for years and are famous for it, not to mention giving short measure to further improve their profits!

Again, at the expense of sounding extremely naieve, how exactly do they manage to sell any fuel if they charge so much over the odds for it?
For fairly obvious reasons, I avoid Marlborough like the plague if I've less than half a tankfull left, so I'm not an expert, but I THINK they're the only petrol station in the town.
They pick up the odd customer floating down the A4 on just the fumes; a few idiots who fill up first and look at the price board afterwards; and they DO have a regular clientelle of little old ladies, with blue rinses, who LOVE their attended service, so they don't have to get that nasty fuel stuff all over their hands.
I honestly don't know what they're charging at the moment, but I DO know they were on 92p when everyone else was around 69p. They don't sell much, but what they DO sell, they make a bit out of, even after paying their short-measure fines.
