Hi at all at Metropol!
I am browsing at flatscreen TFT monitors, and I came across this Samsung one for £260 with TV Tuner, Teletext and Radio built in.

Then there is a similar one, classed as the 7 in 1 with a memory card reader etc for just under £300:

What I want to know is your opinions on TFT monitors, is Samsung the best choice, and which one of the above two is the one to go for.
Many thanks
Jeff

Glad it's not just me thinking thatIsonstine wrote:# The hills are alive with the sound of muuuuuuuuusic #Fireboy wrote:This is my favourite display![]()
And at the *BARGAIN PRICE* of £2099...

I've got a 19" TFT monitor and it does just that - it's a monitor.
I've got a radio for a radio. TV for a TV etc... I tend to find that these 'jack-of-all-trades' don't do things well.

The one I have on the wall opposite me just now is:

NEC LCD3000 30" HDTV. I'm using it to display a "Welcome to" our company with a spinning logo. Bit of a waste really but visitors like it.

If you've only just bought it, and you're seeing dead pixels already, take it back and complain!
Well I've been doing some research and apparently it's a "stuck pixel". It's green for those who care.
It says onthe internet to try massaging it - running epilepsy inducing videos over it and turning the screen on and off might bring it back to life. Maybe I should just leave it or should I complain about it?

Complain your arse off. You shouldn't get something band new with a fault, no matter how small. I know you've been waiting, but send it back, wirte letters, write to the makers and the sellers, scream, put up posters, inform all WHS customers.

Forget all that crap as it's not needed.Hymagumba wrote:It says onthe internet to try massaging it - running epilepsy inducing videos over it and turning the screen on and off might bring it back to life. Maybe I should just leave it or should I complain about it?
Take it back to where you bought it from, and either get a refund or a replacement. And in any case you have at least 12 months warranty on it by law, never mind what the pleb in the shop says otherwise.
