It does change automatically. Even though there is an option to customise the text, members who don't do that will just be 'junior memebrs', 'members', 'senior members' etc.

As a new driver (one-and-a-quarter years on the road), I get really irate about that. My buddies say it is the first sign I am becoming an experienced driver. Not too sure about that.
