most young girls do not have any side effects at all, in fact, it often makes periods lighter, predictable and with less cramps - that's certainly the case with my partner.
you seem to have led a very sheltered life, james.
drop me a pm if you want me to put you in contact with a friend who will be more than happy to drill you up the arse and sort you out.
Knock it off Lobster. You are not being helpful or even accurate.
And if your current girlfirend is 14 then perhaps YOU should be speaking to someone about it.
"Most young girls do not have any side effects"? Did you just make that up?
Get your facts straight.
i certainly am being accurate, and i maintain the majority of women who use hormone based contraceptives do not have any ill effects. those who do, will need to see their gp for a different solution.
Before i begin, i shall fore-warn you all that i've had a couple of glasses of vino so i may ramble on a bit.
It sounds like this girl is a pretty sensible young woman and it's reassuring that she can talk to her mum about it. So many girls can't which is really quite sad.
Dr. Lobster is pretty accurate. Most young girls don't suffer any side effects. Not sure about the age risk. If he's right then i may have to have a Vasectomy discusson with my bloke pretty soon-ish.
I went on the pill at 15 and have never sufered any side effects.
If a girl is sexually active then going on the pill is the sensible option to prevent an unwanted pregnancy and to carry condoms to prevent a s.t.d.
There are many positive points to using the pill and a fair few negatives too.
I recently had a little to-do with my new Doctor about me using the pill. I'm a smoker and it is not advisable or me to use the combined pill. Just to please him i tried the mini-pill instead of trying to quit smoking. Never ever, EVER again!!!
It came with a whole range of problems. Without going into too much detail.
12 weeks later with 1 pregnancy scare and a normally rock solid relationship on the rocks due to my mood swings, i returned to the clinic and told him it didn't agree with me so could i have my usual pill PLEASE.
He agreed to prescribe it to me if i agree to quit smoking soon. I feel i'm in no-win situation here. Why oh why did my old Dr retire? Looks like i'm going to have to try quitting the ciggies. Any smokers here fancy trying to quit smoking with me??
Mental anxiety, Mental breakdowns, Menstrual cramps, Menopause... Did you ever notice how all our problems begin with Men?
