I have recently been searching for phones, but I want to know which is the best network to go with:

I have been with both Orange and Virgin Mobile once, well ages ago

My current phone is with T-Mobile who I hate (rip-off)

I have been with 02 (one BT Cellnet) with the rest of my phones, and I have had no problem with them... for now

Can somebody please help?

I've just got a Nokia 6680 (3G phone) on O2.

I've been with every network in my time (being a tariff tart), and, in my experience, only O2 and Orange work without fault.

I'm sure there would be plenty who disagree with me though.

as far as coverage goes, i've found voda to be the best in my area - never used to be able to get a signal in my room with o2 but i can with vodafone - but this is not an objective reason. other services like mms seems to go down quite often or picture messages never get recieved despite being sent without error.

depending on your usage, vodafone tarrifs are not always value for money.

my advice is decide how much you use your phone, and see which provider does the best deal for you and go from there.

Vodafone, without any doubt.

I've been with them since 15th May 1985 with no problems.

'Er Indoors has had an Orange anagram of carp for best part of a year, with little other than problems.

We got it simply to have a choice of networks in case of transmitter failure and such things, but it'll be over on Vodafone with mine once the year's up.

I would say Orange, as I said in a Thread sometime ago, I've been with them for five years now and I've never had one problem with their Customer service, granted their offers for their PAYG users aren't as good as other Networks, I'm not too bothered as I'm not a Text mainiac, I only send a few a week.

Do your research, see what is best for you, one of the big four is the best bet IMO.

No 'Other' option? I'm on Virgin and persuaded friends to join too to text them for 3p a message. Top-up mind you. Been in a contract once, never again! I must only spend £5 a month on my mobile at most.

Well I'm on Fresh from the Carphone Warehouse and with only 5p texts to any network I think it's the best one around for what I use it for.

virgin is a vsp though, so your service will be the same as t mobile, just like tescomobile and o2 are the same.

I have been with Vodafone, BT Cellnet, Virgin & O2

I am currently with Virgin & O2 and although Virign Mobile has free voicemail O2 has a much better signal & the "300 free texts a month" sim card (which were formerlly "Genie" sim cards) are the best "Pay as you go" chips around

Currently using Tesco Mobile... out of sheer laziness I haven't changed networks (phone is not locked to a network). Used to use O2, will be going back to them next time I buy a phone.
