I have been up town to have a look around the kings lynn festival, and i saw this on the way home at around 11pm:




yes that's right, it's a queue of people waiting to get into the bookstores of the town eager to buy the latest installment of harry potter.

is it just me, or is this just a little bit sad?

why wait until mid-night to get a book, get home at say 1am, then go to bed? why not wait until morning to get it?

people are stupid, they really are.

You think that queue is bad you should see the to-do and hoo-haa up the road at the Castle tonight.

I have just been for a night out for some friends in town. A mate turned up to the bar we were in shortly after midnight, happily proclaiming she had the new Harry Potter novel after queuing for only half an hour outside WH Smiths.

Myself and a friend, under the influence of a few beverages wanted to top this. We blagged our way into the Mall. I had "left my invitation at home". Then skipped Smiths, straight to Woolies, got my copy (adult cover no less) and back to the bar within ten minutes.

Considering I did not even go out on the mission of getting the book, I got it a lot quicker than any genuine Potter fan.

Would explain why there's a sudden surge in chavs now all wearing those distressed look pink t-shirts, which a year ago were seen as hip and cool, but now the boy-racing chavs have taken them over and have all become sheep.

Would also explain why Amarillo was number 1 for a month

Also those charity bracelets, which let's face it, are more of a fashion accessory now rather than a demonstation of your compassion and willingness to do something about poverty, AIDS, etc.
