If anybody owns a Sony Minidisc player and SonicStage, please help me out. Is there anyway to transfer music from the minidisc player (they transfer as .ogg or something like that) to an mp3 or something like that?
THanks

Isn't that against one of the Ten Commandments?J.Christie wrote:Minidisc Audio Coverting
Or is that only when you do it to your neighbour's wife?
Yes, but there is a good chance it'll not be easy.J.Christie wrote:If anybody owns a Sony Minidisc player and SonicStage, please help me out. Is there anyway to transfer music from the minidisc player (they transfer as .ogg or something like that) to an mp3 or something like that?

Sony have the MD format strangled so much that transferring anything anywhere is a nightmare. You'll prob have to use something like TotalRecorder or something and basically record the output of your minidisc onto your PC then chop it up and create the MP3s yourself.
I'm guessing Jamez will be along shortly...
Good Call. I'll instead load a bunch of 100mb wav files onto my i-podChris wrote:And don't create MP3s. All material from MDs is compressed already and re encoding it will simply make it sound worse.

The latest version of SonicStage does export to mp3 or a variety of file formats... I just downloaded the new one from the Sony website.J.Christie wrote:If anybody owns a Sony Minidisc player and SonicStage, please help me out.
