What kind of cameras are these sweetie? I bought a vision mixer only to discover that I need cameras which can be "genlocked".

Perhaps between us we have a working studio set-up?

I haven't a clue... it says "Panasonic F10 CCD" on the side - I should imagine they were last used in the 60s or something. One of them doesn't work, but the one that does seems fine. There's also a shoulder bit so when you're filming you can enjoy a back ache at the same time.

(Both pictures are the same camera. I can take more pics if you want, or maybe even create a 3D model and animate it... on second thoughts don't ask me to do that.)

Bail can probably explain what on earth it is a lot better than I can.

What with your fantastic newsreading skills and my knowledge of cameras (ha!) we can create a rival for HMGN News!

If what you actually mean is that you refuse to use eBay 'on principle' then what principle is this exactly?

Probably the principle that you end up with everyone else's unwanted junk at extortionate prices.

Lee, have a wee look at the back of the camera and see if it has a connector marked "genlock" or "sync".

And bless you for saying I card read good.

It has 2 connectors marked gen-lock, and a bigger one marked gen-lock adaptor.

How fab. Then we really could, er.. make movies.

I bought this Panasonic mixer which I had wanted *very* badly in my yoof. Provided you can synchronise your cameras (hence the genlock requirement) you can mix and wipe between the two. It links 2 cameras, a VCR or other video input and a third camera for superimposing titles which you produce on a black and white card. Just like "Look Around You" did.

I bought the mixer for £40 or thereabouts from someone in Edinburgh, coincidentally. I saved on the postage as he dropped it off by hand.

I have three of the old cameras in a cupboard so I thought my luck was in, only to discover that they were too domestic to be sync'd together.

I certainly don't need this kit. I now work with DV and non-linear editing, but mixing live video is fun. The thought occurs that selling the F10 cameras + mixer might raise a pretty penny or two.

That's what ebay is all about though, really.

You know when you told me ages ago you never used them I felt guilty, but you didnt have to buy them. Gavin, they ARE genlock enabled, but due to having no use and no vision mixer I sold them, just happened to be to Lee.

Bargain at £0.88p with 0 bids. I could have used "buy it now" for £3.00, but my funds are drying up at the moment! eek!
Southampton, do be serious, try further east.

I wanted to help you out, and I don't regret that. I still have an interest in cameras even though I know buggery all about them. I'm glad I have them, I just don't know what to do with them. :P
