I seem to recall they couldn't call it Nova in Europe because in Spanish and Italian it translated as "won't go".

And what we know in Britain as the Vauxhall Nova was called the Opel Corsa in the rest of Europe.

I thought that was just because the Europeans didn't want an invasion of British chavs.
