Morrisons leaftlet through my door >:^C

Not sure if anyone else in the country recieved this through their front door today or not but I know the constant dislike for "Morrisons" on here so I though I would let people vent their anger again.

In Ilford (East London \ South West Essex) we recieved a leflet form "Morrisions" The Leaflet is all about "Safeway" chaning to "Morrisons".

One thing that made me laugh was at the top of page five was a paragraph about "Changes to your Safeway" it says & I quote : "You may already have noticed some improvements to your Safeway - such as the quality, choice and freshness of the food brought to you by Morrisons every day."

Now I have never been either (we have always used either Sainsbury's or Tesco's) but judging by the piss poor quality of the Morrisons carrier bags I have seen in Stratford (East london) I think they coul be lying.

Anyone else get this leaflet?

So let me get this straight, you are judging the quality of Morrisons food by looking at their carrier bags. Radical.

I didn't know they were sending them out. I was booted to Morrisons at West Kirby the other Sunday, that being a Safeway converted store had loads of leaflets explaining the change, nothing special just the usual bullshit, Reason No... etc etc

Our local Safeway is still a Safeway, yet the carrier bags have been downgraded to the piss-poor, bottoms rip out of them half way back to the car, Morrisons versions.

I can only assume they're specially made to fall to bits just AFTER you've been through the checkout and paid, so it's YOUR responsibility at that point.

They expect you to go back in the store and pay for the same items that broke when they hit the floor AGAIN.

No way, fella! More reasons to move to Tesco, like I have.

Tesco's actually have a very reasonable "Quality Promise" with all their products (including the shitty VALUE ones)... just out of interest what do Morrisons offer along those lines (other, of course, than your Statutory Rights)?

That reminds me, about 8 or 9 or 10 years ago I had the pleasure of unsealing a Walkers Crisps packet full of air. I can't remember whether they accepted it back or not to be honest... but if I were working there I'd certainly be just ever so slightly suspicious :roll:

I happend to pop into my local Asda a few weeks ago, and I'm converted now! My average bill is about 5-10 pounds cheaper than Tesco!

Tesco seems to be everywhere though. The one in Llantrisant is HUGE. It's like an airport terminal, absolutely massive. I couldn't find any of the things I wanted in there, so I just grabbed a latté from their cafe and drove off to Asda.

Tesco does seem to going for world domination. In Milton Keynes, we have three massive superstores and with their take-over of T&S, the "Express" format is popping up all over the place (there are four of them within a short walking distance of where I live).

Other than a smallish Sainsbury, even smaller Waitrose plus M&S there is no choice assuming you want to avoid Morrisons.

Tried Morrisons once after the conversion - the place smelled of fart and I will not be going back.

A friend who used to work at Safeway told me about the big scam possible thanks to the old Refund and Replace policy. Depending on how cheeky you were, you could buy a case of wine, drink a little bit from one of the bottles, and then take the lot back saying it was off. They'd then have to give you a complete new case of wine plus your money back. Never felt cheap enough to try it out though.

As for Crocks' comment about Morrisons smelling farty, the city centre store in Leeds smells very much of piss. Who needs that fresh bread aroma anyway?
