I didn't realise they got rid of the vertical logo. At least with that, it showed some kind of ID.

I think your new Tesco logo is brilliant, jay. Miles better than what they've got now. It reminds me of a logo you'd find on a supermarket in France.

Out of interest I wonder what it would cost Tesco to change the signage on every store, the livery on every delivery lorry, and the packaging on every single own brand product. Even with their massive profits it's a scary prospect.

Mind you, in the past Tesco have phased in their updated logos extremely slowly, in fact it's taken as long as twenty years for the latest logo to appear on absolutely everything. As recently as 2003 the small Tesco store in Macclesfield still had the look they had in 1982, complete with the red and white 'tick' logo - does anyone remember that?

The Tesco at Culverhouse in Cardiff still has the old logo (the one without the blue bars underneath). It's a nice looking shop though - all red brick and perpendicular roofs.

I have to say, though, that I do now prefer Asda to Tesco. The one at Coryton (J32, M4) is nice. The whole shop and car-park is plonked right in the middle of a forest. No wonder it's the Asda they use for TV Adverts! :D

Thanks rdobbie!

The phase-in of the so called 'new' logo is still ongoing though! Some of the boxes of products we get delivered still have the old text only logo on them! When it's fully phased-in will probably be when they start to introduce a newer logo.

Don't forget they now have stores abroad as well, so will probably keep the existing logo for quite some time yet!

What would everyone do to Wilkinsons? It's been the same for as long as I can remember- although it now looks very old fashioned.
