This will be my first General Election where I am eligable to vote, and I believe Labour will get my vote. If this was a few years earlier, I may have voted Liberal Democrates, becuase of their policy on Student Fees, but as I am in my second year, its too late for that.

I dont personally have a big problem with Iraq, Saddam was a bastard, and I believe its good he is no longer in power, even though Blair wasn't honest, but who actually believed him in the first place.

Not sure if Gordon Brown as PM is a good thing, seems a bit too Old Labour, so let's hope britain doesn't return to Strikes and Trade Unionists dictating policy.

And on the strength of your statement about saddam do you also suggest we go to war against Equitorial New Guinea and Zimbabwe because Teodoro Obiang and Robert Mugabe are bastards?
I don't appreciate being lied to and the fairytale that WMD's could be launched within 45mins really sticks in my throat.
A family member of mine was out there dodging REAL bullets, RPG's and" friendly fire" ( there should be an amendment to the oxford dictionary for that word, it could come under incompetant) and imaginary wmd. Not to mention burying their lost colleagues all the while killing thousands of innocent Iraqis.
I agree we should have got rid of Saddam first time round, i have issues about that but it is not enough reason for going to war. Personally i think a single bullet through his skull could have done it.

All politicians lie, its to be expected, its not good, its not right, but there is no alternative, I dont believe the Conservatives would be any better, and if the Lib Dems were more of a political power, I would probably vote for them.

I have to agree about this Sadam issue.

The point of the war in Iraq was that he supposedly posed a clear and present danger to our shores. This was a lie. Bastard or not Martin, we are not supposed to invade other countries unless they threaten our safety.

Absolutely correct but unfortunately, At least one of the oposition agreed with the Governments war tatics ( I think it was Tory although could be lib dem )

In the Canadian General Election of November 1993 the Conservatives went from having over 100 seats to just 2 seats. On the election - things are cyclical.

Labour will win this one, on a reduced majority, then the Tories will win 2009 and the one after that, then back to Lab, back to Tory etc etc ad infinitum

Not quite old enough to remember when the tories left us with over 3 million unemployed?

I'm not going to remotely entertain your bogus figure of current unemployment. I've lived through the Thatcher years and I saw how much worse it was with my own eyes.

That said, I also remember the winter of discontent, the three-day week and when bodies piled up because undertakers and grave diggers were on strike - under a labour government.

If we are specifically talking about unemployment here then I can assure you we are in a better state than we were in 20 years ago.

Incidentally, there is no need to punctuate each post with a web address for the Conservatives.
