On a slightly different note.. isn't it funny how simple this system is. No ID, no proof - nothing, just turn up and say "23 Smith Drive".. amazing.

You can't even collect your post from the post office without ID these days!!

He's quoting himself and disagreeing with himself...

He said unemployment was 7 million, then he said no it isn't...

Either i'm very confused, and will return with humility to Desperate Housewives, or something fishy is going on.
I have corrected above post, but Ross I'm sorry you are still talking shite.

Seven million my arse.
In my post I wasn't including unknown unemployed but even then it would be no way near 7. possibly 2 but not 7, (7 mill is near enough the whole population of London)

As it says, the deadline for registration in order to vote in elections held on 5 May 2005 was 11 March. You can phone them though and they will be able to tell you straight away over the phone if you are on the electoral register (as long as you know your full address and full name - not too tough really.) I made sure I did this after Edinburgh City Council removed me from the register when I actually asked to be put on the register before the congestion charging thing. It's definately worth checking.

Also, the electoral returning officer will send you an official polling card about a week before the election. This will contain your name, address, electoral registration number, date of voting and the address of your polling station.

When you go to vote, you don't have to take the card with you on election day but it speeds up the process. When you get there, you just show your card to one of the clerks - if you don't have it then you will be looked up on the register and crossed off.
cheers, apparently my mother filled one in for me but I'll still ring later to make sure.

Health Secretary John Reid committed Labour,s first election gaffe when he admitted the Government,s record on education, health and public transport has been a failure. In an interview in a French newspaper, Mr Reid was asked what Labour,s greatest failure had been since winning power in 1997. He replied:"My principal regret is that we did not start the reform of public services earlier". In health care, he said, this had left "a shortage of services which we want to correct". He added:"We have to act now to maintain the NHS".

P.S. During the 1997 General Election campaign Tony Blair said that voters had 48 hours to save the NHS.

Well maybe, but your ideas on unemployment levels are a load of rubbish.

A Leaked dossier yesterday exposed how Labour,s Health Service targets are putting the lives of casualty patients at risk. Internal health service memos and e-mails highlight doctor,s anger about Whitehall,s directive that accident and emergency wards must deal with the vast majority of patients in just 4 hours.

P.S. Australia has a much higher standard of living than the UK, and a Prime Minister with the surname Howard! (He was helped in his Election Campaigns by someone called Lynton Crosby!)

How? Some rumour on a conservative website?
I'll prefer to trust the Office of National Statistics, thanks.

Health chiefs have made secret plans to close a leading hospital in a marginal Labour seat it was claimed yesterday. They are considering shutting Charing Cross Hospital in West London and transferring its services to the Hammersmith Hospital about 2 miles away.

he isn't actually Tom although I wouldn't put it past him. He's just so retarded he can't use the quote system properly. He's only just discovered signatures to post his "p.s. please visit radiocaroline" tripe in.

Talking of inability to use a system. I'm now paranoid I forogot to send away my voter registration form thingy I picked up at school. If I haven't sent it away does that mean I can't vote? Do I get something in the post to say "you can vote" and if so, when does it come?
It,s scum like Hymagumba that get the Internet a bad reputation.
