i say go for it, it is an absolute scandal. would it be fair for me to alledge that this information came from ison or one of the other mods on tvf (the only people who'd really know)?

i think outing this corruption is the only thing to do - there is nothing to lose, in my opinion.

Indeed, but if further elections were held for the post of 4th mod on TVF, then any chances I have of succeeding MrToms maybe placed into jeopardy by my suspissions of what occurred 2 years ago.

It's sinking because the crew on board have no direction as to where it's going.

If I had some muscle to change things, I would. TV Forum is a strong brand on the Internet, viewed by nearly a 1000 people a day. It needs to build upon it's sucesses and and address it's very pressing weaknesses.

The only reason I've been rebellious on the forum in the past is purely because I'm disappointed in how it's run.

Asa only visits now and again, even though it's his website. TV Home is now closed because he didn't have the time, but the TV Home site could have been developed into a fresher, more modern MHP Private parts site, with dozens of pre-approved members being able to upload multimedia - which I'm sure would have been, and could still be a huge success.

Asa picked itsrobot because he was one of the first members of the forum, and Ison was chosen because...ummm, I dunno actually!

Maybe Ison displays hidden leadership qualities that I can only aspire to! :roll:

I have to confess I find TVF frustrating to navigate what with the repetative and compulsive nature of the trolls. Never mind that a spam selling a pyramid scheme sat open for three hours - and hasnt been removed, merely locked.

I'm afraid it really isn't fair to the majority of members for a moderator to say they are "busy with real life", when it's a responsibility they have agreed to take on.

Nobody is being an arse about it, but there is genuine annoyance on the part of some long standing excellent contributors that e-litter (for want of a better term) is left strewn around with scant regard. Frankly, if a mod isn't up to the task then they should make no bones about it and step down. There are many other good members who could commit to at least checking the forum once and hour.

Personally, holidays, business trips and rehearsal time aside I have a fairly structured existence meaning i'm near a switched on pc a lot of the time. If I weren't, I wouldn't be a moderator. I wouldn't do a half assed job, I'd rather let someone do it properly.

To be a mod, you should be fair and balanced without being Fox News. I'd say my qualities are more suited to being a mod than yours, to put it bluntly. You enjoy the attention and playing up to things. Yet I have been here as long as you, have contributed as much sensible discussion, but have chosen not to be the character that you are.

Don't get me wrong - I like you very much and enjoy you being around, but I don't see why you deserve to be a mod. I have absolutely no idea why you feel it is in some way your right or that you are disappointed in not being asked. Just have a look at how many people are around this place, and explain why you in particular stand on some higher platform.

People getting higher than their station in real life is bad enough, let alone on something that exists only in cyberspace.

I think that Ison should step down, as he isn't really much use on there. He didn't particularly want the role to begin with.

And you've missed my point, Dan.

Basically, what I'm saying is that I've suggested ideas for improving things for four years and until I'm blue in the face.

I have no desire to be a mod, but when I see a website that has been part of my almost daily life for nearly half a decade going downhill faster than mdta on his way to a well-known fast food outlet, I get a bit frustrated with the typically British way of doing things slack-jaw and with no enthusiasm.

I'm saying that things need to be changed, otherwise we should just forget about it and let it fester away into a slow death littered with trolls.

I remember there was outrage when I suggested a couple of years ago that there should be a minimum age for users. I suggested 15 was an acceptable age for users, but I was lambasted for being "age-ist"! :roll:

while ison isn’t perfect - i would say is perhaps, out of the 3 of them, the one that approaches the forum in the same way that you, myself and many others do. he has a sense of humour, he has a life, where as the other two ... don’t (there go my chances of being a mod). ison may not be on as much as he was - but i would be happy to see robot replaced before ison. whilst ison does not see the idiotic trolls, robot sees them and chooses to do nothing. that is worse.

we need a 4th moderator, but as much as i like you james, i think you make a better contributor than moderator.
