several have gone by the wayside

one ad I remeber was like for plummers & other helpful services

they used to say on the ad "0345-t" which was 0345 123 580

dunno if that still works & can't remember what the company was now

Wow! How do you remember these numbers? I don't even know my own phone number. I have to look through my phone memory for mine if i have to give it to anyone.

Easy.

I've always been good at numbers, but dreadful at names, faces and rounds of drinks.

I've even been known to use some of my telephone numbers from the nineteen forties and fifties as passwords!

(Not this month, though, don't bother trying!)

I remember 0345 as the ad had an annoying tune.

I can remember landline numbers but not mobile numbers for some reason (seeing as both have 11 digits). I have had the same Virgin Mobile chip since August 2001 & still don't know the number.

The only ones that haven't changed since they introduced numbers are 0500 & 0800 which new freephone numbers are 0808

the shortest phone number in the UK (except for text numbers) is "Childline's" which is 0800 1111
