DVD Players Linked To DVD Recorders

Is it possible to link up a DVD Player to a DVD Recorder like the Panasonic DMRE85 and record whatever is on the DVD to the hard drive or a DVD disk?

Sorry if I sound a bit thick on asking this, but I'm interested in buying one and just wanted to know.

Well there aren't any obvious reasons why it shouldn't. If you can record from e.g. a Scart input, you should be alright.

I'm not sure about that actually, because alot of the DVD's are Copy Protected...
