This from the SAME manufacturer who took Kit Kats out of tin foil and put them in plastic wrappers. I say we go up there and break their legs.

Incredibly sad news - no longer will be able to explore the correct position for the lid so that when you blow through the tube, it fires off into your dad's Sunday Times. OK that's just me...

But on a slight tangent, what was with the European version of Smarties that had a white tube - and Nestle choc never tastes as nice abroad either...

Did anyone else see Blue Peter today? They did a whole item about how Smarties are made, without ever mentioning the name of the product! (They're "chocolate beans" in Blue Peter parlance, apparently.)

That's just not right, it's like babybel not being round, or bread being triangle.

Quite correct too. All Nestle's marketing decisions are made in Switzerland, or some country near there.

That's true actually. No doubt the press release was full of the usual "A survey carried out by Smarties, the tasty sweet, said..."

You have to watch that when taking IRN copy - they'll make you try and sell anything. It's amazing how many surveys Vodafone get themselves involved in.

nodnirG kraM wrote:Oh and re: the Kit Kat wrappers, I believe the plastic foil superceded the paper and foil wrappers due to them being used by heroin adicts as part of the burny-heaty-uppy process (or whatever it is heroin users do at the tin foil stage!). That way you get a chocolate bar and a free piece of tin foil in one fail swoop.
I'd suggest there was no other reason than it being a hell of a lot cheaper for Nestlé to turn out thousands of plastic wrapped Kit Kats like every other confectionary they make, instead of purchasing and producing paper and tin foil wrappers... if a heroin addict relied on purchasing Kit Kats as part of their drug taking routine, they're obviously not clever enough to buy a roll of the stuff from a local supermarket! Blaming Kit Kats for heroin addicts is perhaps the best reason I've heard...!

Well there's a fucking surprise, what with them being a European company.
