can't delete file help!!!!!

can anybody please help me i have got a bbc schools video on my doucuments but it won't let me delete it says the file name is invalvid or too long so i made the file name shorter but it wont delete can anybody help please? and this is my first topic hi!

Can you not rename it to include valid characters and delete it that way?

Dos (Winkey+R, type cmd, press enter) --> type CD [directory] - if it's my documents it'll be c:\documents and settings\(user)\My Documents\... --> type del [filename] --> hit enter (preferably with a mallet whilst disrobing and chanting around lit candles surrounding your windows XP product box) --> bang, gone.
