We've just had a Kwik Save in the centre of town converted into a Somerfield Essentials (a bit like Safeway Compact was until Morrisons spared them from 80s Tackville and sold them onto Somerfield, who'll probably "Essentialise" them) and it's well nice now.Jamez wrote:What about the very 1980s Kwik Save logo?

We seem to have lost most of our Kwik saves, the one in Stockton Heath village closed down, as no-one went in and the one in Latchford Village was demolished recently as it's lease was up and the owners wanted to redevelop the land, and so no-more Kwik Save. But there's still one in the Town Centre, about 2 minutes from an Asda though!James Martin wrote:We've just had a Kwik Save in the centre of town converted into a Somerfield Essentials (a bit like Safeway Compact was until Morrisons spared them from 80s Tackville and sold them onto Somerfield, who'll probably "Essentialise" them) and it's well nice now.Jamez wrote:What about the very 1980s Kwik Save logo?
If that was in London that would be a Tower Block by now (the demolished one I mean)nwtv2003 wrote:We seem to have lost most of our Kwik saves, the one in Stockton Heath village closed down, as no-one went in and the one in Latchford Village was demolished recently as it's lease was up and the owners wanted to redevelop the land, and so no-more Kwik Save. Harry Hill : "What is it about people that repair shoes that makes them so good at cutting keys? Try going in there with a shoe shaped like a key and see how confused they get."

I know what you mean, it being cleared to make way for a new shopping development, the first half of the old bit was demolished about a year and a half ago and for the past year all there has been is the steel skeletons of the building as the workers went on strike for some reason, but work is starting to take shape as the second half has been pulled down and a deal was reached too. Round the corner from this development they're building even more houses on what was the old Renault dealership (before it moved) and a Chinese restaurant which was forced out, and guess what's being built there, yup houses!Johnny wrote:If that was in London that would be a Tower Block by now (the demolished one I mean)
There was a bit of derrilict land near what was the old Brian Bevan Island or to simplify it, a roundabout that links the A49, the A5061 (I believe) and the A49 leading the bridge to go into Town centre. More houses being built there, on land that hasn't been touched for years and it's also by a very busy roundabout.
Anyway back to shop presentation....

I'd say costly for print purposes and a little too Sainsbury Orange. Little to spectrum coloured - less is more.jay wrote:OK, now I look like some sad supermarket junkie, but I've come up with a colourful new look for morrisons.....what do you think?
Remember those awful Kwik Save ads featuring Michael Barrymore? Where he was in a "real" branch of Kwik Save that seemed to not to resemble any branch that actually existed. The place seemed spacious and walls were painted red.
Not as bad as Jimmy Tarbuck's unconvincing 'happy' grin at the end of the Farmfoods advert!

"That one!"
I like it. I think the one is East London is in Stratford (E15) as I have seen people with their bag at Stratford Station & at Maryland Station which is less than a minute up the line from StratfordChris wrote:I was bored so I knocked this up ...
It's simple but I think effective, and also easy on the eye unlike the previous design.
