Where can I find this lead...

I desperately need a lead like the one I have drawn above, a stereo mini jack (standard PC output, left and right) which is split to two normal sized Jack plugs (left and right, or mono it does not matter)

I have tried looking on the net but can't seem to find it. A lead like this must exist; I just need to find where, thanks in advance.

Cheaper way:

STEREO JACK to 2 PHONO lead

then you need two PHONO TO JACK converters.

We've got a number of these at our radio station and I know most of our stuff came from Maplins so try there.

Why not just make it yourself? Buy a stereo 3.5mm jack, two mono 6.25mm jacks, and a few metres of speaker cable. At the place I buy my bits from, that lot will come to a couple of quid.

That would require a soldering iron cwathen.

I can have have one sent direct from the manufacturer for about a tenner - if you would like.

Would it be possible to connect 2 sets of speakers to my soundcard. I was thinking of using one of these


Would this overload my computer in any way? Its only onboard sound nothing special. I was thinking of buying this....



to compliment my current PC speakers. Anybody have any experince of them? There quite old now but I seem to remeber being quite impressed by them in a shop a few years back.

I do believe one of those little doohickeys you've found there is a Channel L-R splitter.

Thus it would effectively halve the power given to each speaker, by only giving the left channel to one of them, and only the right channel to the other.

I'm afraid I don't actually have a suitable answer to your problem... just here to throw a spanner in the works!

Actually..

That would work fine. As long as u get a "headphone splitter" which splits the signal, and because both speakers I presume are powered this would have almost no effect on the sound quality.

Yeah, i'll make sure to get one which just duplicates the signal rather than split it to left and right. Thanks for your advice.
