You're better off with a VHS than a DVD

Currently the quality of a DVD is better than my digital cable picture!
Do you have Telewest Broadband digital TV?

If so, then that is your problem. The quality of the picture is really rubbish and far too overcompressed.

So much so, that I would never buy a DAB digital radio - the sound quality from those things (unless it's a tranny to be used in the kitchen) is awful for my liking.

Furthermore, they, like on DTT seem to be concerned with cramming on as many stations as possible at the expense of quality.

Long live Analogue TV and FM radio I say! :D

Any thread that still allows contributions to be made to it, can be defined as "Active". An "Inactive" thead would be one that was either "archived" or "closed", and therefore would not be open to further contributions from the Forum's members.

Since my primary computer is a laptop I really want to buy a DVD-RW but can't as it wouldn't fit my model - I am however very tempted by the USB2 ones but they look a little out of my budget!!!

Yeah, it is a telewest tv. You could literally count the mpeg squares during last nights TOTP! It was suggested that they recompress a sky stream or something similar, but I find that hard to believe with todays technology methods!
