Pubs ban downmarket designer labels

Strange I was thinking about this recently...
(oh, hello everyone, I'm Inspector Sands)
....I was queuing for the check-in desk in a european airport and noticed that everyone around me was wearing football shirts. Why do people feel the need to travel to or from a foriegn country with an England kit on (or Arsenal, Rangers, Or Ma*******r U****d etc.)

If I ran an airline I would ban football kits from my planes along with burberry (any burberry suitcases would be treated as unattended and exploded safely outside) and fat women with crop tops. Children would also be banned as they invariably scream throughout the flight (I'd also ban them from weddings for the same reason if I could.....certainly won't be having anyone under 10 at mine)

ah yes football shirts and tatoo's - the ultimate identification of the idiot working class.

quiet a few pubs ban anybody wearing them where i live, but still, i think the ban should be applied to any public place. indeed, i think directly supporting any football team publicly should be discouraged, as this could incite racial hatred.

Pretty interesting listen ...

Radio 1 documentary - "To Chav and Chav Not" - WMA 28.4Mb

and for those on dialup ...

Radio 1 documentary - "To Chav and Chav Not" - WMA 10.7Mb Lo-fi

Contains strong language from the start.
Thanks for that, great documentary. Hope you don't mind me linking to it on my blog.
No problem! Go ahead! ;)
I assume by the "tvf_temp" in the path, you're likely to delete it sometime. I found a recording on the Radio 1 website with lots of text by it so I linked to that instead in the end.

Would you explode this poor defenseless teddy? Not his fault he ended up on a plane. In the BA "Concorde Collection" next to a £200 bottle of Whisky and a £400 bottle of perfume. Not for your average "chavs" whatever they maybe (I don't think we have them in Surrey).

Yes the teddy would be the first thing to go..... although any adult with a teddy is automatically suspect

Yes there are Chavs in Surrey, the bits that are called Surrey, but are actually Greater London... and the rougher parts of Guildford

Blow up something worth £130? I'd spare the poor mite to be honest. Ebay is a more worthy candidate for the teddy if you were so desperate to be rid of it. ;)

You'll see some Chavs in the more rougher bits of Walton, but definately not in the posh parts such as Ashley Park and Silverdale. The roads round those parts are even a yukky salmon colour for god sake, enough to turn away any potential Cav!

Mind you, I wouldn't mind taking a sledgehammer to a Cav's car though

Fair point! Old dears I guess would buy such things.... at £130 you wouldn't give it to the grand children would you?

Oh, I wondered who those rough looking types were when one frequents some of Guildford's night spots. I am slightly less critical if they are attractive. The majority of Burberry wearing Guildfordians tend to be affluent over 60's! I'm sure any "lads" in such gear must originate from Hampshire.
