Right then (make this sticking if you don't mind martin).

I've got to sort out the templates tonight, something I've been meaning to do for days but due to drunkeness/decorators/collapsing relatives/laziness/tiredness/lack of a bed/lack of a consistent location for this computer, I haven't got round to it.

Basicallly I'm looking for a list of all the little niggles with the current site (not including "the red").

So far I have

1 - typing a link without either BBcode or HTML makes it white on white
2 - problem with page numbers in PM
3 - no border on quote in PM
4 - courier font in this typing box
5 - a few spacing errors
6 - I think there is no PM notifyer in viewtopic/viewforum
7 - you can't click on topic titles on the homepage

So if you find any others if you stick them in here, by the time I come back to life I can get to work on them.

Good point actually, Mark. But only just noticed it tbh.

But yes it would make more sense.

The lines at the bottom of the page dividing the bottom bar into 3 sections.

Is it supposed to be like that by design? :?

It'd look much better if it were a solid line on everywhere else but the front page.

So is it official then? Although 'the red' is by far and away the biggest complaint with the present look, you absolutley refuse to change it?

Yet if people venture a 'niggle' which is comparitively trivial and changing it will only be apparant to a handful of people, you'll consider spending your valuable time looking at it?

A bit of cutting off your nose to spite your face surely?

And it really does strike me as being a bit naff that public opinion was specifically invited about this new look (rather than someone just deciding to comment on it off their own back), which one can only presume was with a view to considering any changes which might need to be made - but then when public opinion demonstrates a massive rejection of a particular element of it (which I'm convinced Martin doesn't particularly like either), the powers (from everything to come out of them thusfar) appear to have taken the decision to ignore it.

And that this new thread has been started to discuss anything that people feel needs tweaking, but 'the red' is specifically censored as something which cannot be requested - even though the powers that be know that it's being overwhelmingly requested, I find quite pathetic to be honest.

Sorry, I meant to reply to this thread as soon as it started but have been rather busy lately.

Perhaps it wasn't made clear but this thread was started to clear up any errors. By that I mean things that are not displaying correctly or anything else along those lines. The comments on the overall design have been noted from the other thread and have been taken into serious consideration.

I have asked benjy to come up with an alternative design to the topic list pages by way of reducing the red in some of the columns, substituting for white perhaps. I am assuming that is the the area of red that causes most of the problems for people.

Personally speaking I am more than happy with the overall new look. I realise all the red columns in the topic list page is too much and I have taken action towards getting it changed. With the exception of the topic list page I don’t believe there is a problem with the amount of red on the other pages.

I hope this has cleared a few things up.

Thanks)) Martin

I like the new look.

I would prefer to have Times New Roman or Verdana in this reply box, but other than that I quite like the new look.

More clouds would be nice though! ;)

Could we have that little bit of script that prompts you to add a url and then the "title" of the url?

I keep forgetting how to do it and get it wrong each time.

Yes yes, that's it. I'm studying it... still studying...

No - now I've forgotten how to eat. I'm afraid I've reached my capacity to store new things.
