on the subject of flooding and bad weather, has anybody here had any power problems these last few days? tonight, our power has been flicking on and off quiet frequently, indeed, it was off for over an hour earlier, whilst half the village remained working.

Wouldn't surprise me if his mother turned out to be Rose West and is used as a human sex toy in the cellar in his 'flooded' home. :roll:Hymagumba wrote:It's strange how you get affected by every news item possible.

I'm not sure I buy that one. It's clumsy - "There's tons of..." sounds right but is grammatically inaccurate. When you take out the abbreviation (in the same way that if you take out this bracket), the sentence should read correctly.dvboy wrote:"There's" can be used to mean both "there is" and "there are".DAS wrote:It should read "THERE ARE four errors in that sentence".
And I'm thoroughly glad you're thoroughly aware and won't worry.dvboy wrote:I'm thoroughly aware that it does, don't worry.
We had a bit of flickering the other day during some rain, but I'm in an area that hasn't been affected by bad weather so far - whether the flickering was related or not, I don't know.
Maybe I'm nuts (YEEEESSSS I AMMM) but I love it when the lights flicker and it's all dark and thundery. There's something exciting about it...

In which case you deserve to be flooded for that reason alone. I'm sure Hyma can think of another reason
