Shaving......

Well, not me, certainly..... i make do with disposables....

I'm a bit more upmarket with a Gilette Sensor Mach3. Not really sure why though when in essence all wet safety razors are disposable - it's not like you literally buy replacement blades to go in your razor, you buy new heads to clip on the end of your handle and they certainly aren't cheap.

And looking around the shop, I seem to be paying out an awful lot of money just to have a metal handle instead of a plastic one.

Do I gather from this thread that no one uses an electric razor?

I use an electric razor. They're extremely comfortable and I don't get cuts on my face as a result. Which reminds me, I've got a job interview tomorrow, better shave!

i did shave my chest the other weekend for research purposes, and i am totally shocked at how fast it grows back. it's had the same mass of bum fluff on it since it was 17, but now, it's jungle like !

I just cant use a razor with a metal handle. They are too heavy and drag at my skin leaving it quite sore. The Mach3 are excellent though and I see that they are now making them with plastic handles.

I've had bad luck with electric. Feels like they pluck the individual hairs out and its excrutiating. I must have used a blunt one.

Some company brought out a 4 blade dealy recently. Overkill methinks.

My problem is I have very thick dark stubble. A weeks beard growth for a normal person is about two days for me. I have been shaving since the age of... Christ.... 11, and have also never found an electric razor that does the trick. My current one, which I don't use for that very reason can be run over the entire beard area for five minutes resulting in sore skin and no lose of facial hair. I use a Mach3 as well, and generally shaving gel as opposed to foam.
What gets me is that over the years, parents, girlfriends etc have always TOLD ME how to shave, but having such thick growth it grows in all directions so something that my dad and brother have no problem with is to me like trying to shear through weeds with a flick knife! Not everyone is the same. Not that I've been out with anyone who resembled Geoff Capes you understand. Now, wait... there was that disco with the bad lighting... sorry, where was I?
I remember a patient opposite me in hospital who shaved with his electric razor everyday even though his face did not seem to have the remotest bit of bum fluff on it!

I've just used an electric razor for the first time ever (I don't get much growth) and I've found it pretty comfortable.

The thought of using a blade and cream doesn't appeal to me really ... in fact I think it seems pretty dangerous compared to using an electric razor with the cuts you can get and the like.

I have to wet shave and wait for it i have to always do it in the shower shave that is .It's good for the skin as the steam moisturises it you should try it.

i have never shaved either my winky or bollocks bald, but i do trim them now and again to keep them looking tidy.

several of my friends shave their scrotum, and whilst their female partners have given the thumbs up to this, the downside is that it is incredibly itchy, so i haven't bothered to try it.

TIP: NEVER EVER WAX YOUR SCROTUM!! CHRIST!! I thought my testicles had been ripped off!

As Dr Sig says, blokes should trim down below to keep it tidy. I hate the fact that pubic hair grows down the sides of your inside leg too! :roll:

I suffer from mild aduly acne

Therefore shaving is one of those necessary evils.......

If i do not shave every day I seem to then produce spots(esecially below my lower lip).

I recommend Kind of Shaves - Antibacterial formula for shaving (if you suffer from spots or not) and Mach 3 as (for me) they do not agrivate the spot to much as I shave over them.

Ok, enough info now.

Bloody hate shaving though....especially on the neck and around my prominant Adam's Apple

Like someone else further up the thread I have dark thick hair which is a nightmare for shaving. If I wanted to be clean shaven all the time I'd have to shave twice a day (though my mate shaves once a week and you'd never notice any hair on his face at all). And I couldn't cope with that, problem is if I shave more than every other day I get dry skin and rashes, therefore I look a bit "stubbley" most of the time. I find the Mach3 razors work best for me, I did try those new Quatro ones and they are rubbish in comparison. I've also tried shaving oil and it didn't work for me. Noxzema shaving foam is best... comes in a big tin and lasts for ages.
