Girls grabbing you and shoving their tongues down your throat? Where is this place?

I only ask out of idle curiosity, you understand. Yes.

Well, they don't do it to EVERYONE, just those of us who are tall, dark and handsome! hahahaha! 8)

If you ever go to Tenby, head to Jammos night club on the outskirts of town. Once a month they have local chav girls dancing naked on the poles! Unmissable if you want to laugh at Chav girls and boys in their best Kappa and Tommy H, and Burberry gear out on the "pull"! ;)

I detest clubbing now - loved it when I was much younger, but they're horrible, loud places full of people who are normally much younger than I am!

But, it's one of the few places you can meet members of the opposite sex, so it's a cross I have to bear.

It's amazing that after tens of thousands of years of evolution, the process of finding a partner is now done under alcoholic intoxication in darkened conditions designed to disorientate the senses. Figure that one out.

No it doesn't. It makes you look all disjointed and completely stupid.

Oh...

No?

not at all, me and my buddies have cleared the floor with our erratic strutting, and had a good laugh doing so, but, that was three, maybe four years ago, when getting shit faced was more of a novelty. but today, i'd much rather go down the pub with a few mates and the gf, have three or four pints and have a laugh and a chat about stuff. i just cannot be entertained by getting so drunk i throw up, and jumping up and down on the floor for a bit. it does nothing for me anymore.

To be honest, I can't think of any couples I know who've met in a club. It's more of a chav thing to form a relationship under the influence; given that chavs are under the influence most of the time, it really explains a lot.

Dr Sig, I agree re: sensible conversations, etc. I like clubs, but if push came to shove I really would rather sit down in a nice bar somewhere with friends... especially with a pub quiz on (Ison, when are you at uni in London, I shall be coming down every week to do your pub quiz. We have won our university's one already, so I no longer have a need to participate in it).

But, Dr., I think you've got to appreciate that there are just a lot of people out there who work in the week 9-5, doing fairly pointless jobs, getting paid fairly average amounts, and who see the weekend as an outlet for getting totally wankered and having plenty of sex. I wouldn't say there was a reason WHY... I think that's a bit deep, isn't it?

i, personally, cannot see the point in going for a night out and returning before 3am. and to be honest if you're selective about where you go, and you know where's what price on what day, you can have a well cheap night at a club if you try.

I am also of the pub school of thought, it's much more fun sitting around and having a laugh, especially if you make an evening of it.

However, similar to everyone else, I am also partial to the occasional club here or there, but in London it's so expensive (about £50+ a night if you really cut back), so I try to limit going out.

I love pub quizes too and have won a few in my time. Any chance I could join your team, Tom and James? ;)

Well I've just got in from my mates house after an evening at the not-so-local pub (it's another mates local!) and we won the pub quiz - 12 bottles of the cheap alcopop rubbish but it's better than nothing, for certain. They have been stowed away and will be saved for an evening when we see fit to consume them.

Talking of drinking and all that tonight - only managed half a pint of Stella tonight...hair of the dog didn't work. Although it created an incredibly cheap night. And I won a couple of quid on the slot machine. All round...good!

As for pub quizzes - anyone is welcome to join my team. Although you cannot be too weird...that part is covered by me. Tom I expect no less to see you in my London local every week to partake in the quiz. And if you're lucky, I might allow you to sleep on my doorstep and will feed you what is left in the bottom of the kettle.
Good Lord!
