Jewellery on guys

What do you all think about guys that wear jewellery? Why do you wear it - and would you voluntarily buy jewellery for yourself? What kind of jewellery is "in" at the moment and what is tacky? Does wearing certain types of jewellery make people think you're gay?
Why I ask is that I have been given a gold chain for my 18th birthday and am a bit reluctant to wear it in public as I think people will think I am either gay or pretentious.

So what if people *think* you're gay. If you're not, then you know better, and the people that you do know, know you're not, so you have nothing to worry about.

It really grates me that people are bothered what people they don't know think about them. Who cares? You're never going to see them again...

And for the record, I know a good number of straight people who wear a chain.

Never have understood why either sex want to stick bits of metal through parts of their bodies. Guess I never will.

i think it depends on the size, if anything. some people look ok with small descrete items of jewellery, but meaty gold chains, ear and soverign rings tend to look fairly tacky on everyone.

although i wear a necklace myself, its one of those bead ones, i'm not a fan of gold on either sex.

Copmpletely agree with you, Sigmund. If I wear any jewlery it's subtle, and silver.

Anyone who begs to differ I hope will rethink after visiting http://www.chavscum.co.uk ;)

The chain I've got is pure gold but not too thick but I'd still feel all eyes would be on me if I wore it. Had it on in the house today but can't get used to the feeling of something round my neck.

I's swap it for silver. Gold just looks tacky.

I wear rings, well, I would if I had any. And yes, they'd be either silver or plastic. I also have wood and leather necklaces but plan to get metal ones, or silver. Yes gold looks horrible and so do those chains.

I'll have to upload some pictures, lol. i think I have a good taste in jewlerry. I also like my finger armour, its awsome... you could almost kill somone with it :D
