Flying to America
Reminds me of the time I was at JFK in 1998 when they went to X ray my bag and found something they thought was supicious. Suddenly one official started talking to the other and then other and then I was taken to one side of the room with some sort of senior official with my baggage asking what was inside it. When they opened and found it was just a camera , they looked at me if I was a twat (no comment!) or sommat.andyrew wrote:Not sure if that's true or not, but when I last flew from JFK they had a slightly unusual check-in procedure.
Check-in as normal, luggage weighed and tagged etc. But rather than put your bags on the conveyer belt you had to take your bag to a huge x-ray scanner and lots of security people. Once your bag cleared this security check it was then put on the conver-system. They requested people with locked bags to hang around just incase they wanted to have a physical search. If your bag wasn't locked you could go.
Made me wonder at the time whether they can tell a camera from another when it's in that machine. Also is JFK the airport that has something similar to the NBC jingle over the loud speaker system?
