Detectives investigating the murder of 15-year-old Kieran Rodney-Davis, stabbed to death for his mobile phone, are checking a list of names of suspects.
Local people have given police several possible names. Kieran, who was on a shopping errand for his mother, was stabbed once in the chest when he was confronted in Fulham by three black youths.
The youths, all aged about 15 and wearing red balaclavas or bandanastyle scarves over their faces, were seen running away after the attack at about 2.45pm on Wednesday.
Police have been searching nearby South Park for a murder weapon.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Little, heading the investigation, said "We are getting a lot of information. We have a number of names but still need further help. We are fairly certain that this started out as a robbery and ended up as the pointless murder of an innocent youngster. From what we know Kieran was stopped and searched, then stabbed even though he offered no resistance."
