Well which of you lucky bastards other than myself have had Exams for the past week. For myself today has been the worst day for Exams as I had 6 hours worth! This morning I had Media Studies (Where we analysed Sky News) and this afternoon I had ICT (I was retaking Paper 1), though you get used to it, it can be really boring, even worse than GCSE's!

Though they're all over now, I don't have to be back in College until Wednesday, so I get to do bugger all on Monday and Tuesday. (I am working this weekend  )

There must be other people on this forum who've had them this week or next week, even though Study Leave ends on the 16th there are still loads of exams for others who I know.

Good luck to anyone who are doing them at this period of time, as they're a right shit.

It's just Results day I am not looking foward to!

You're lucky. I've still got exams on the 15th and 30th of June for my maths retake and business studies.

Regarding the IT retake this afternoon, wasn't the 2nd paper pretty easy? And wasn't that picture of the desktop on the loose sheet so blatantly obivious it was Windows and yet they decided to edit the picture heavily and then compress it just for good measure.

I know, the picture was a real poor quality. I couldn't have given a toss for the exam as I'm not doing IT for A2 (yay!) I didn't bother to revise for it and managed to answer most of the questions. The picture gave one of the answers away, which was explain 'Stand Alone', I didn't know what it meant but after I saw it, I changed my answer, it's their own stupid fault really.

Like last time (in Janurary I mean) and with the Paper 2, they took no time at all, they give you 90 minutes, every does it within 60, I managed to do Paper 1 in about 45 minutes!

Though I'll probably fail it, but as I said I couldn't give a toss about A2 IT. Have you seen the Coursework for A2? It's worse than AS!!!!

Good luck for your other exams, I didn't know they went as late as June 30th?!?

I feel sorry for my friend as he has to attend a University Open Day at Plymouth on June 16th and then he has to be back for 9am on the 17th for a Young Enterprise exam, clashing with his Birthday too!

Unfortunately I'm doing it for A2 as well

No I haven't seen the coursework, but after speaking to some second years and the staff behind the desk in the copying and binding area it seems that A2 coursework is a bit excessive. One guy even managed to do about 600 pages (I kid you not!!) and had to be bound into 5 seperate volumes!

Ouch.

This afternoons IT exam was the easiest exam I have ever taken. It irritates me how someone can get an AS level by stating the obvious, whereas others have to do a horrendously difficult mechanics exam (OCR, last Wednesday afternoon) and Physics.

Incidentally, I finished paper two within half an hour and I was home by the time the exam was officially over.

"Someone is word processing a document, name two functions that can make the heading stand out". Seriously. If I was an employer, I wouldn't consider ICT AS worth the paper it was written on.

We haven't been told ours, my project went tits up with the whole program but I tried as hard as possible to get it up as much to the specification as I should, so I'm guessing an E at least. Though one guy in our group only did 13 pages, if that! Though apparently he only got 3 marks for it.

The ICT2 paper I found quite simple, though we had a trainee teacher for some of it which didn't help as I didn't have a clue about one of the questions. I didn't revise for it heavily but I still managed to get it done within the hour.

The thing I don't get about it was the board managed to chop off some time from other exam papers, why can't they do the same for IT, normally I wouldn't be bothered but I had a 25 minute gap between the IT exam and work.

The Media Studies exam I found quite useful, I managed to write alot on Sky News, wrote alot about the institution too, as you have to, though I found it difficult to apply Ideology to the bulletin.

The only things I hated was that 2 people were late and it was put back for 15 minutes or so which was incredibly annoying as the rest of us managed to make it up on time. The other thing was the whole AQA slide before the bulletin started, that woman V/O was very annoying and the test tone they used before the start damaged my ears literally as we had the TV on extremely loud.

It always annoyed me how easy ICT was compared to Computing, especially when they're considered to be virtually identical in the eyes of many employers.

It's like being able to choose to do "French" or "Slightly more difficult French", I suppose.

I had my fecking three hour English synoptic A level paper this afternoon. Hours of fun. Hoping it went ok, but as always with these things, my predictions (whether good or bad) have been proven wrong. Last exam is my Theatre Studies synoptic a week today.

Good luck to anyone else doing exams at the moment.

On this day one year ago, I had my last ever public examination - A2 ICT Unit 5. And the last question required me to write a letter to somebody. So at the end, I signed it - it was like signing off. A great feeling.

Don't think I'll be able to sign off at the end of Theatre Studies.

"Curtain" seems appropriate though.
