Just signed up for this and I must say that I am very pleased with it, a great piece of software. I would recommend it to anyone.

You browser is fantastic compared to my AOL 9. :(

MSN is so modern and clean with the browser.

Whats the deal with MSN Explorer? Is it just a 'logged into your passport' front end of IE or is there something more to it?

Lets continue this over in Tech Talk.

I could be going insane, but since moving this thread Gavin, TechTalk appears twice on the front page. How queer.

EDIT: I have gone mad cos it's only showing one now. But I promise it was showing twice earlier.

I really dont like the look of that because of the gradients, they aren't subtle enough to not look tacky. I like Linux's use of gradients because it looks very, erm, non tacky.

Does Msn Messenger look any different?

Ooh, that's nice.

I like the reflections of the toolbar icons mirror-style.

But what's the difference between it and Internet Explorer?

Your guess is as good mine . . . !

Yup, that's pretty much it. AFAIK, it's pretty much just a childish looking graphical front end
for IE, with a few "subscriber only" extras, and a modified version of MSN Messenger bolted
on for good measure. And since it relies on whatever version of IE is installed on your
version of Windows, it shares more or less all the same security problems as IE.

Yes. I beleive you have to pay a monthly subscription for the "privilege" of using this crap!

Basically, to all intents and purposes, MSN 9.0 is Microsoft's equivalent to AOL 9.0. And even
though AOL is mostly crap, (TBH) I'd sooner subscribe to AOL than this virtual pile of pants!

I notice it has the big back button ala IE Longhorn.

Not sure why "Help and Settings" are one menu though, seems against normal Windows guidelines.

Would never touch AOL or that MSN explorer with 200 foot bargepole!

I hate AOL with a passion

you get antivirus software, encarta, photo editing software, 30mb hotmail space, no adverts on msn website. It is also very customisable as well, you can change almost everything. And also the side bar is great because it displays favorites, weather, news, calendar, tasks, messenger contacts, alerts, email, downloads, picture slideshows, media player and stocks and shares (you can also close the bar and make it display on the desktop like in longhorn).

Its a fancy looking version of IE with tons more features
