my girlfriend and i have been invited (its one of her mates birthday) to a fancy dress party where the attendee's are required to come as 60's, 70's, or 80's icons but we're actually a bit stumped as to what to go as.

we want to go as something funny, cartoon characters are acceptable too. it can be anything, but the more stupid the costume can be, the better.

any help would be greatly apprechiated!

How about wearing an 80's style perm wig, and black leather jacket, you could go as Michael Knight!

All you'd need then is some suitable transportation . . .

My girlie used to really fancy him when she was at school, so that would be quite funny, but we're really looking to go as an iconic couple, any ideas people?

If all else fails, you can go as Charles Manson.

It's icons we're looking for here, not notorious murderers! Don't tell me you regard him as an icon?!?

No, but my mum is a hippie. Well, has the beatles' white album and some LP's from the kinks plus many other vinyls of some groovy sixties funk.

Thanks for the ideas guys, so far the best we've come up with is punch and judy, (richard and judy would be quite funny too) but i'm still not entirely sure in my own mind that this is the correct outfit.

I dont belive your struggling with this.

Does it have to a be an icon from those decades? Can it be an outfit that appitamises the decade you choose? ie heavy gold jewlerry and dangling in a very hairy chest with jeans so tight you need a can of WD-40 to get into them.
