Jogging

Normally, I try once a week to go out to our local nature park, and have a good walk for about two or three miles. I got a new pair of shoes, and they're good and comfortable.

Anyway, yesterday on the way back, I decided to just pick it up and jog for the last mile. Aside from a dreadful need to spit (and, upon doing so, dribbling all over the wire to my earbuds), it felt pretty good. My calves are a little sore today, but it's a good kind of sore ... like I got something done down there.

I think I'll try and jog more. Does anyone have an tips? Or does anyone excercise or visit the gym regularly? I hate the gym, incidentally, although I love the way women look in gym clothes. Sigh. Such is my internal struggle.

Reminds me of the Garfield the Cat cartoon strip which goes something like this:

Jon: You should take up jogging, Garfield. It's 50% mental, don't you know?

Garfield: Great!

Garfield: *thinks to himself while lying in his "bed"*: Puff puff pant pant sweat sweat. I'll work on the other 50% some other time.

I got on a bus today where the British Heart Foundation advert on the side read "get off one stop before and walk". The bus in question overheated and left us stuck about 20 miles from the stop for ages.

I noticed that ad on the side of a bus the other day, but I thought to myself I would rather walk than get on a 25 year old Double decker bus that stinks of piss. I don't usually go jogging, but I walk a hell of a lot and that keeps me quite fit really and it does help.

If you think jogging is good, you should try swimming - it's even better! Isn't jogging not supposed to actually be that good for your knees? Sure I've heard something like that???

Ah! The burden of hot, indeed overheating, buses signifies that once again summer is with us! So jump off your hot bus, and stroll to work/education/dole with a smile on your face and an Alldritt in your pocket for good luck!
