Ooops. Think I may have been a little intoxicated when I wrote thatBarrett wrote:Calm Down Mate LOLandyrew wrote:You're all fuckin* wossies. OK here's the deal. Yes, been to NY 3 times in 1 year, know it better than London. As c@t says, by Ipod, sell for more. Makes sense? Yes, I fly Concorde but now bastards make me fly slower. Gay clubs that are fab: Thearpy, around 52 on 9th. Grab a bite to eat at Rosey O'Grady's first, 52 on 7th. All out partying: Splash on 17 between 6 and 7. Learn to use subway, can't go wrong. NY tis my fave city despite working in London. Go there enough to feel like a local.
What more can I say? Visit my baby, G-BOAD who has retired to the USS Invincible museum.
And as for just pressing play on an old VCR tvam..... one has staff for that kind of thing (I sound like Margo Leadbetter)
I got id'd last year when I went to a night club in NY (must be my youthfull good looks). I handed over my EU driving licence and got a very peculiar look from the doorman, who kind of grunted, couldn't find my DOB on it and just let me in. How nice.
I want to go, now. Grrrr.

The BBC pays you far too much, Andrew.
What exactly is your job? Head of a department I assume. Not many people could afford to fly Concorde at £6,000 a time and drive a flashy BMW...apparantly!
I suppose you also have a penthouse apartment in London somewhere too, and have audiences with the/a Queen a few times a year?
Your getting spoilt by the BBC andyrew :roll:Jamez wrote:andyrew wrote:You're all fuckin* wossies. OK here's the deal. Yes, been to NY 3 times in 1 year, know it better than London. I don't think a job with the BBC could support that kind of lifestyle. Unless you are David Frost.Barrett wrote:Your getting spoilt by the BBC andyrew :roll:Jamez wrote:andyrew wrote:You're all fuckin* wossies. OK here's the deal. I think Andyrew has a second job as a male escort.
*sigh* it's a tough life I lead. I'm just fab really.
Male escort? Now there's a thought. Who's next? I'm cheap!
Jamez, I still do the job (more or less) I've always done for the last few years, poorly paid (afterall it is the BBC). However, I have sold my bf's kidneys in order to purchase concorde tickets, and had to sell my virginity to buy my car. Can't afford the petrol mind!
Just remember, when you gay boys grow up, you too will need to have a fabulous lifestyle in order to make your breeding friends envious. It's the law.

EVERYONE, I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccccccccccccccccccck
Had a great time in NYC - it's a great place and I want to get a job there now!
Did all the great things - obviously the Empire State Building WAS one of them, although thankfully only queued (or was "in line" as they like to say over there) for about 20 mins, good going, eh?
So these are my recommendations if anyone else is going sometime soon:
Get the Circle Line Ferry as soon as you can after you arrive, it gives you a great perspective of the isle that is Manhattan and helps you get your bearings. The commentary is also tops.
Talk to people - I didn't get much of a chance, but didn't quite get the feeling I was properly away until I'd spoken to some "proper" Americans.
Get the subway, it's cheap, although slightly confusing if you're used to the London Underground
Walk across the Brooklyn bridge and spend some time down on the park area below it - there's fantastic views of the famous skyline there.
Get the Statten Island Ferry, twice. It's free, so go once during the day and once at night when it's all prety and lit up
Enjoy Central Park and spend several hours there, it's a really nice place to enjoy the peace after stepping out of the hussle and bussle.
...and there's loads more, but I'm too jet-lagged to remember of type much more now!
Quick, go now while the exchange rate's good!!

Oh, good, so I caught it right at it's peak. Natch.Barrett wrote:The good thing about going to America is the Exchange rate
£1 = $1.77 at the moment.
