The best Winter Olympics was 2006 because
1. BBC Two reused the 2000 Christmas ident which was the first time they'd done that sort of thing i.e. bringing back idents from a previous set
2. Top Gear Winter Olympics special
in hindsight, the concept of 2s throwing themselves off a cliff is darker than I remembered...

I'm going to an event later in the games and they will not stop emailing me with BOGOF offers for the opening ceremony which seems absolutely crazy to me. I suppose they might be hospitality returns or something but an email with the same offer every other day seems like a bit of an omen for how popular these games might end up being.
