So, because I have had it with Windows 11, its general bloatedness, the constant advertising, the AI shilling, etc. I have been testing out Linux distros. Currently, I am typing to you using Zorin OS, which is based on Ubuntu, but has similar UI features to Windows. Basically a bicycle with training wheels for linux users. I have it on a virtual machine, and I have so far been quite impressed. It's a lot more customisable than Windows, and Its nice to be able to uninstall apps I don't need/want. While I am still learning about it, and am only testing, I may consider a full switch to Zorin OS, or another Linux distro, down the line.

Probably when most people ditched their landlines. No need to disambiguate if you only have a mobile handset and no home landline, so people started just calling their mobile simply a phone.
