Locally the signs changed on Tuesday which was impressive. Yet my nearest store isn't on TGJones's website!

It’ll be interesting to see what eventually happens to own brand stock that they sell both on the high street and travel locations such as stationery, will it remain similar, or will one half of the former business launch a completely new range

WHSmith already provide stationary for the remaining POs operated by Post Office Ltd (which will all be franchised off by the end of the year) and continue to do so for TG Jones. WHSmith is listed as a stockist on the WHSmith stationery they sell on the TG Jones website.

My main concern about Modella Capital getting involved is that if and when they decide to sell off the physical portfolio that a lot of towns and cities will lose their Post Office after WHSmith were awarded the bulk of the franchises.

Have recently listened to a few episodes of the Toast podcast on BBC Sounds. Whilst it can be a bit quick and light on detail (25 mins per episode), they've covered the histories and downfall of the likes of Homebase, Woolies, phones4u, Safeway, Our Price etc. as well as other business types, including Freeserve, Dan-Air.

An interesting listen, if only for some of the childhood memories the discussions brought back!
