As does Benton (Newcastle) and Fulwood (Preston).
Is that the old co-op hypermarket?

It's the old Benton Hypermarket (and still gets called that) - I think it might have been co-op at one point.

TVF's London Lite.
I think they'd consider 73 to be a result!Martin Phillp wrote: Fri 11 May, 2018 18.02 73 stores may be sold to meet regulatory requirements.

As does Derby (Spondon)james2001 wrote: Thu 10 May, 2018 23.58 How many Asdas have a McDonald's in them? The only one I've ever seen is the one next to the trafford centre.
Not really. Most Co-op supermarkets have been sold off by their respective owners in the last 20 years, sometimes in parcels and sometimes piecemeal.MarkAshley wrote: Fri 11 May, 2018 21.18 Re: ASDAFunny you should mention that: was there a point at which Co-Ops were bought up by ASDA, or is it coincidence that the Lancing branch I visited this afternoon has evidence it started life as a Co-Op Super/Hypermarket?
For example, in Nottingham we had:
Bulwell, which became a Wilkinson around 2001
Clifton, which became a Morrisons in 2008:

Kirkby in Ashfield, which became a Morrisons in 2012:

Strelley, which became an Asda in 2014
before - https://flic.kr/p/gj59wr
after -https://goo.gl/QpyQKi
(and was apparently sold among a handful of others: https://www.insidermedia.com/insider/no ... tores-asda)
Wollaton, which became a Waitrose in 2016

after - https://goo.gl/maps/QdWaL831ovq
I think it's more the case that it's been common knowledge that the Co-op Group (and other societies) were open to offers and have taken them when the right ones have come along.
I think the strategy might have changed, as I think there's a few supermarket sites which have received the new fit out (branded filling station and all).
This rather lovely specimen sits abandoned still: https://flic.kr/p/7vzEYG - it was earmarked by Asda at one point but a Lidl has opened on part of the site.
