Ooh yay it's the "American style local TV in the UK" argument again! I look forward to fan favourite comments like "There's no appetite for local TV in the UK", "How can you know that without trying?", and who can forget "Here's a bunch of images and YouTube videos of American local news that somehow prove my point"

I'm enjoying the recent interaction and conversation going on between posters in the Helicopters thread.

The sooner Local TV is scrapped the better, then it'll never be mentioned again.

And now cityprod is 'adding' to the debate. A man stuck in 1985 with his opinions. I'm sure his broadcasting experience on community radio in Devon will add to the American standpoint.

Yes, his posts on both forums are incredibly stubborn.

If he's so confident that a rolling news format would work, why doesn't he pitch it to some investors and set up an operation himself? Something like the Beaumont Broacasting Company, or Ian TV.

To be fair, he'd be as insular as London Live.

There's an aircheck of him on community radio kicking around the Internet. The word "panned" springs to mind.

I can't find the aircheck in question, but his radio show has been reviewed.
