Oh, the Tesco I was in still had the fixtures on the self scans but they were empty, and the assistant was stood holding bags in her hands rationing them out and telling people to enter the number taken when the till asked at the end.

The Sainsbury's situation is a little confusing initially as even when you do 'I'm using my own bags' at the start, at the end it asks 'Did you use any Sainsbury's bags for life?' or something worded like that - which is actually referring to their new white 5p carriers. I almost pressed yes thinking it was the Nectar points 'did you use any of your own bags screen?' but it obv wasn't. That screen followed immediately after. If that makes sense.

It seems you will get paid if you can find them a new location....

This is standard practice for supermarkets. Aldi and Sainsbury's, for example, have a finder's fee (the latter for Local stores).

The North/North East was where Netto had the highest concentration of stores initially. I'm guessing their previous sales data will be informing their decision. It makes sense to concentrate in one area for operational efficiencies to begin with. I'm sure if they're successful they wont delay in rolling out.

Like many so called UK companies, Netto had NO Scottish store. It would do rather well in some part if its come a bit further north.

What are you on about? Netto was a Scandinavian outfit.

My local big tesco is having its second refurb in as many years right now. I went last night and they appear to be replacing all the old cream shelving with a quite nice-looking dark grey equivalent.

The HORRIBLE bright yellow aisle end units survived the last revamp - I wonder if they'll survive this one too?
