I do hope I'm not in the minority thinking it isn't a broadcaster's duty to uphold the brand guidelines of another company, especially not the BBC.

How many times has it been mentioned? I only count two, and (my) second one was only a sardonic aside. Sadly the usual suspects have bitten.

I almost wish I could go down the David route and become a professional WUM if only for the fact I know Asa would ban me instantly. I'm on his list.
Yes, it's only been mentioned twice - and it's already annoying. Not because it was mentioned, but because of the replies. I could tell you weren't being serious.

I'm a supporter of the BBC guidelines yes but not necessarily the Twitter guidelines
I didn't spot the sarcasm at all.

They've never been renowned for getting humour over there, Philip.

Shouldn't worry about it.

To be fair I read over my comment and I see how it would come across as a serious post, my bad.

In future I'll just stay out of it.

I think Stewart Lee has the market cornered on non-obvious sarcasm - funnily enough, I can spot his.

Here is an example of a funny post for you to look at:

If Tom Edwards really did use the phrase "End of" then I would also like to offer my two fingers to him. That's four fingers so far.

It's very nice to see a lot more split threads at the moment, really helping to show that not everything has to be in generic threads. Long may that continue :)

Nice to see the non-BBC Olympics hat split, despite the pathetic objections of whoiam989:
Gosh... I already made a thread dedicated to such purpose. Please go over there:

623058 seems slightly more erratic than usual recently.

He seems to be getting very worked up about minor inaccuracies on TV presentation related matters.

I don't think that's something that you really need to complain about a member of TV Forum.

I personally admire his enthusiasm for accuracy of TV pres dates. I had no idea BBC World didn't drop the flags until April 2000, or that the 1996 Carlton idents started in 1995.
