What's wrong with that? All racehorses, regardless of their actual DOF (date of foalage), are considered to be a year older on Jan 1. Considering it came in a post about C4 racing, it seemed an apt, humerous coda to me.

To some of us, his deliberate and convoluted posting style of late, in contrast to some of his earlier posts, is obviously a wind up. Baa, Phil and others seem to have missed the point. To me at least, it's a subtle statement on the affairs of TVF, where inane, stupid, downright disturbing and idiotic posts and posters are tolerated by the admin and mods, and where those of us who wish to engage in intelligent, speculative and interesting conversation about our particular niche interest are disillusioned by the plethora of pondlife infesting the place.

What are news programmes doing about this? Am I right to think that most news programmes would show the goals from an off-air recording? Is there another way for them to get pictures?

So, he hasn't ALWAYS been like this. His join date is also 2004. For someone like Baa, join date 2011, to criticise, is frankly a bit rich. Unless Baa is a previously banned member, in which case, you would do well to tread more lightly.
