It appears that the Spotify deal has finally arrived. Those singing a new contract seem to be getting 6mo of Spotify Premium (the one with mobile access) for *FREE* and soon the new TiVo firmware shall enable it on the telly aswell.

Rather annoyingly though it appears it is only on 30MB and above which might mean getting the evil SuperHub with its notorious problems.

More to the point, who else has gone and got one of the TiVo boxes? I did during my latest retentions moan and am really rather impressed. The sheer difference in the interface from the old clunking V+ (which I got to keep for free and had put into my bedroom for no extra cost, YAY) is incredible and I really am enjoying the way its been recording shows that it thinks I like.

tbh there is somewhat of a backlog of shows I need to catch up with on the thing now but the sheer potential of the thing is amazing. Having youtube on telly is also fab.

So has anyone else got TiVo yet? I note the V+ now isn't being offered to new customers after the withdrawl of the old V box a while back, so it seems its either TiVo or the V HD box are the new boxes that go out to everyone.

On a very slight tangent - it does seem the last firmware update for the SuperHub, which landed a month or so ago, has seemingly resolved all my problems of dropped wifi, random reboots etc. I hadn't even noticed that there'd been no problems in a while. So, I wouldn't let it be a barrier anymore...

two points

1 - the off air image for BBC Three and other channels has been updated to a more modern Virgin Media style rather than looking like it was being generated by the awful old V+ Firmware.

2 - has anyone managed to wangle a Superhub 2 yet? Is it any less hopeless yet?

So today I did a survey for Virgin.

Essentially they're hinting at another (urgh) price increase.

However something I gleaned from this is it would appear Netflix is coming to TiVo. I'd be interested in knowing whether this is just another crap app ala Spotify or it's nicely integrated ala not like Spotify at all.

Yes! More stable, the connection doesn't drop - a lot faster on the 5Ghz mode and nice I can connect my phone still using dual banding - cons: need to be inside my house, can't access in my garage anymore (it was pants before anyway)

Also the speeds I pay for I seem to actually get now... Makes me wonder how many of their speed complaints are because of their piss poor hardware.
