It is a shame a visionary is leaving the stage, and it is sad that Steve Jobs' health has obviously worsened, but the resignation will give him a more peaceful final few years with friends and family, and perhaps Apple's stronghold will loosen, making life better for iOS developers, the media so we can have less biased coverage of tech news, and more innovation from everyone.

Some of the rumours for the iPad 3 are quite noteworthy; apparently Apple want to run a new version of iOS on it, closer to OSX than it is now. Can't remember the article that I was shown but it looked to be credible, based upon some of the hardware that's been ordered.
