[paging Doctor Sput!!!]

Should we be concerned about all this seismic and volcanic activity and is it unusual or do we just know more about everything going on in the world?

There's a volcano erupting today in Eritrea that hasn't been active in recorded history. Plus the one in Chile that continues to erupt. The one in Iceland a couple of weeks ago. Then there's the recent earthquakes in the Pacific.

Is it because of the sunspots?! ;)

Note down your 2012 mental theories here.

I have to admit, I thought the same when I heard about the one in Chile, and now the New Zealand earthquake - it certainly seems that something isn't right.

Maybe it's just because God hates gays?

Dunno, but thanks for addressing me with the correct title. If I had to guess I'd just attribute this feeling to everyone being hyper-aware of everything, particularly volcanos, which are now in vogue for cancelling flights wherever they are.

The bigger philosophical question to phillybaby is: what's right?

Well that's the point I was going to make... what we've had for the last 100/200/500 years might not be "normal". We don't know really.

Lots of ash in the environment does not make for a nice summer though, presumably...

I just think it's a natural release of the earths tectonic plates. I'm not being very scientific but after one big release of pressure it's bound to cause seismic instability across the globe.
I don't think it's because we are more aware due to the media reporting and it definately has nothing to do with global warming. It's just another natural phenonenom. I blame mother nature.

I think you'll find the Bilderberg Group is the current conspiracy theorists world domination figure of the week. Here's a genuine quote from one of them about the Bilderberg Group's meetings:
If they are just having a pointless meeting that has no effect on us then why the secrecy ?

Us in the SE were confirmed as being in the middle of a drought on a day it was pissing it down with rain.

Yup. But the thing I find most interesting is that it's a simple case of "no one knows". And you know it's my pet subject. ;)
