The key to saving on non-food items, such as liquitabs and conditioner - is to stay completely disloyal and get whatever is on a decent offer, and whenever it's a decent offer, buy as much as you can afford. I've never found the offers at Booker or Makro (I've never tried Costco, I must admit) to be as good as those at ASDA and Sainsbury's.

The only such item I'm loyal to is Fairy liquid since I've found anything else to be a false economy. Whenever the big bottles are less than £1 I buy a couple, normally suffices until the next offer. I do this sort of thing with stuff like Ribena too.

...But it doesn't get the dishes quite so clean. I'm told it makes a crap clothes detergent too.
You have been warned.

I wash my silks and woollens in 99 44/100 pure Ivory Flakes. Everything else can be swilled in Cillit Bang, and finished off with Febreze.

Oh another tip with washing up stuff - I've often found M&S liquitabs to be on BOGOF and they do the trick nicely.
