TV Forum Watch News and Information Board
Knight knight
The standard of the current crop of TVForumers can be easily judged by 6 pages of fruitless "discussion" on a rumour started by two anti-BBC newspapers regarding BBC2's daytime output.
The fact that this is just one possible (and in my opinion, unlikely) option which has yet to pass a BBC Trust review, a basic tenet of this story buried at the end of the Fail's article, seems to have escaped them all.

I think it's far more interesting than many of the other standing-on-news-channel/Ady-and-Chrissy-have-swapped-seating-positions-on-Daybreak posts. Of course it's hypothetical but the discussion about what is worthy on BBC One/Two post-digital switchover is interesting, if a little odd.Alexia wrote:The fact that this is just one possible (and in my opinion, unlikely) option which has yet to pass a BBC Trust review, a basic tenet of this story buried at the end of the Fail's article, seems to have escaped them all.
Except for many of the people posting it's become an opportunity to express their desire for childrens television from their youth and more BBC News, especially World News, as they can't stalk those presenters as easily. The occaisional sensible post is just getting buried in these fantasies.
I especially like the suggestion that we should just swap BBC Four and BBC Two's schedules, as that would make BBC Two daytimes more popular
And now we've got suggestions about how they can use the BARCO's better on the news channel if it's simulcast.
There are two things we can be 99.999999% sure of. BBC Two is not going to simulcast the News Channel all day, and the News Channel is not going to be regionalised.

Gosh. It sounds as though the Forum has gone to hell in a handcart. Have things been THAT bad whilst I've been in hospital? Dosxuk is wholly correct - there are very few posts that contribute to discussions in a genuine and meaningful way. That was apparent long before I went away. Having spent a half hour or so catching up, I can say with certainty that I've learnt nothing new from discussions since I've been gone. Daybreak is still rubbish, the Barcos are still underused on the News Channel, who stands up and who sits down to open or close a bulletin stills elicits an orgasm from some members, the Australian TV News and the Vintage/Current Presentation threads are still being filled up by clips that could be found by using Google, ginofish is still annoying, and the presentation on both Sky News and the BBC News Channel is still tired-looking and doesn't live up to the 'promise' of their rebrands. The only difference that I can see is that long-time members of the Forum have reduced the frequency of their postings whilst the lunatics literally have taken over the asylum. I'm surprised that nobody has worked themselves up into a lather over the fact that many of the anchors and correspondents have all been dressed in black, grey and purple for the last three days. Oh for the days when such observations provoked a flurry of silliness that was few and far between.

Its endless garbage at the moment.
Same dozen kids expressing the same half-dozen, half-baked opinions constantly. Can't remember the last time I saw a "last post by..." and felt that little bit of excitement to see what had been written - there are some notable exceptions to that point I should say, but sadly the majority of the time I'm thinking, "whatever...".
It would be super awesome to be able to click over here and see lots of new threads being started - a nice escape from the other side.
But sadly even the stalwarts of this place have gone very quiet, and I don't know why.
So I'm thinking that I might just have to sell this place for a shiny penny and go over to Digital Spy.
*THIS* is what I've been brought to.

Only Asa Hicks can buy the site for a penny - its in the contract.Sput wrote:HOW shiny should the penny be? I'm not wasting good reflectivity if I buy Metro!
I hear he has plans to feature Morrisons' staff rotas. Endless speculation about whether Mabel on loose meats is preggers, and who bagged the easter weekend on their floating day entitlement.
The site, for everyone else, will be sold at market value.
Ha'penny.
At the moment, TV Forum is a complete and utter joke, saved only by some of the intelligent conversation in threads like this and this. I cannot believe the forum is now filled with the likes of SatGold and Ethan938976545891 who insist on posting complete and utter fucking nonsense.
The forum used to thrive on intelligent, lively debate. It's turned into a dumping ground for 13 year old kids who think they know everything about television presentation, and shoot us respected members down for merely having an opinion. That's not the TV Forum I joined nearly 10 years ago.
